The Not-So-Young Adventuress?

There’s a really great blog site by a young woman who calls herself the Young Adventuress — Liz is 28 and travels the world mostly on her own and blogs about it. Liz is an inspiration, and her blog is inspiring as well.

But I’m 53, and I work full time in the tech world. I’m eager to see the world and love seeing what it has to offer but I do it at a more leisurely pace these days.

My father was in the Army, so travel and moving to different places has always been part of me. I was born on an Army base outside of Atlanta and from there we lived in Texas, New York, New Jersey, Georgia, Arizona, and in two different cities in Germany before my dad retired back to Texas when I was 14. Growing up, my mother took me and my sisters exploring as often as she could and we still travel together every year.

I started this blog a few years ago when I moved to New Zealand and wanted to share my experiences as I explored that amazing country. After New Zealand I lived in London for a couple of years, but I came back to the US during Covid and now I’m living outside of Orlando, Florida. So you’ll see a lot of New Zealand blog entries, but this has turned in to a more general travel blog now.
